This large-format light with matte core by designer Lucie Koldova embodies a gentle poetry, simplicity, purity, and balanced proportions. A key role is played by the inosculation of luminous bodies and their mutual interaction in space – the light emitted from the smaller glass core flows freely through the atoms of air within the symbolic protective shell of the outer globe, while the sophisticated design of a bubble suspended in a large sphere evokes a sense of levitation.
In keeping with the brand’s ongoing development of new technologies at the highest levels of quality and innovation, this year the Big One collection has received a technological upgrade in the form of new LED modules that significantly increase the output of the lights while simultaneously guaranteeing reliability and longevity. Improved metal components simplify handling and improve cooling of the light. The outer handblown glass features a gloss finish in the following colour options: transparent, smoke grey transparent, and a new smoke brown. The inner glass features a matte finish in the following colour options: triplex opal, smoke grey transparent, red transparent, light pink transparent, and a new smoke brown. The collection also offers several dimming options for greater comfort and flexibility in setting the right mood, and the Tunable White function lets the user adjust the colour temperature of the light.
The Big One collection is available in two sizes.
The collection consists of a horizontal pendent light with dual glass spheres and a vertical pendent light with a single glass sphere, both of which hang from wire ropes. Another typological variant is an impressive floor light, a majestic light sculpture in the form of a robust upright decagon topped with a luminous glass sphere. The structured finish on the metal fixture is one of the defining traits of the collection, and together with transparent glass or grey smoke glass constitutes a jewel with which to adorn private interiors as well as hotels and restaurants.
