Refund policy

Returns & Warranty Policy

This policy applies to all goods supplied by Koda Lighting Pty Ltd (ATF McCall Fox Family Trust) trading as Koda Lighting. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), including the statutory consumer guarantees.

Inspecting Your Order

Please inspect all goods upon delivery. If you identify any of the following, you must notify us in writing within 10 days of delivery:

  • Visible damage or defects
  • Shortage in quantity
  • Goods that do not match the description or quotation

Any other defect that only becomes apparent after delivery should be reported to us as soon as it is reasonably discovered. We may need to inspect the goods before progressing a claim.

Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Where we are required by law to accept a return, we will do so on the conditions imposed by that law.

Manufacturer Warranties

Most products we supply are manufactured by third parties. For those products, the applicable warranty is the manufacturer's current warranty. Koda Lighting acts as the point of contact for warranty claims but is not bound by any representations made by the manufacturer beyond the warranty they provide.

Warranty claims will be voided if goods are repaired, altered, or overhauled without prior written consent from Koda Lighting or the relevant manufacturer.

Please note that Koda Lighting is not liable for any removal or reinstallation costs for goods that have already been installed.

When Warranty Cover Does Not Apply

Subject to the ACL, warranty cover does not apply where a defect or damage arises from:

  • Failure to properly maintain or store the goods
  • Use of the goods for a purpose other than their intended design
  • Continued use after a defect became apparent or should have been apparent
  • Failure to follow instructions or guidelines provided by Koda Lighting
  • Fair wear and tear, accident, or acts of God

Accepting a Return

Returns for defective goods will only be accepted where:

  • You have notified us within the timeframes described above
  • We have confirmed the goods are defective
  • The goods are returned within a reasonable time, at your cost (where that cost is not significant)
  • The goods are returned in as close a condition to delivery as possible

Where we cannot replace defective goods, we will refund the amount you paid for those goods.

Non-Defective Returns

At our discretion, we may accept returns of non-defective goods within 3 months of delivery. Where we agree to a non-defective return, a handling fee of up to 50% of the value of the goods may apply, plus any applicable freight costs.

Please note: Custom, made-to-order, or non-stock items ordered to your specifications are not eligible for return or credit, except where required by law.
