David Pompa Spikker is a Mexican-Austrian designer and founder of Studio davidpompa, a contemporary lighting and design studio established in 2008 and based in Mexico City, Mexico.
Drawing on his Mexican and Austrian heritage, Pompa creates sculptural lighting rooted in Mexican culture, craftsmanship and natural materials. The collection combines contemporary form with traditional making techniques, resulting in distinctive pendant lights, wall lights, table lamps and floor lamps for refined residential, hospitality and commercial interiors.
Materiality is central to davidpompa’s design language. Working closely with skilled Mexican artisans, the studio explores volcanic stone, barro negro clay, handwoven palma and recycled glass, celebrating the natural variations and imperfections that give each material its character. The result is sculptural contemporary lighting with a strong sense of place, texture and enduring character.
